UFO enthusiasts believe a flying saucer-shaped alien craft has been discovered at the bottom of a US river, but is it all it seems?
Alien life conspiracy theorists believe they have stumbled upon a miniature UFO after an odd-looking metal disc was dredged from the Delaware River on Monday, September 1.
Waring took to his UfO Sightings Daily site to speculate on the discovery.
He said: “The object has the perfect dimensions of being a self-contained disk.
“It is similar in size and appearance to many drone disks seen coming out of larger UFOs.”
However, Waring admits that Delawareans were joking about the metallic disk anomaly.

He then proceeds to contradict the local media by stating: “the object will soon be investigated by the US government and analyzed by scientists to verify what it is.
“I think it’s a real drone disk that outlived its usefulness and plunged into the water.
“Or a disk that was struck by lightning that would be too much for a small drone to handle.
“The disk may have been there for hundreds of years by the looks of it.”

the Akron Beacon Journal offers a much more realistic explanation of the find.
the site reports that the city sent out a joyous tweet along with images of the operation.
wrote: “Hey @NASA if you’re missing an Apollo capsule, it overshot the ocean and plunged into our Olentangy River.”
And while the concave disk bears a striking resemblance to a rocket’s heat shield, Lee Yoakum, a city spokesman, said the likely explanation is more down-to-earth.
Years ago White Sands Campground had a water park and a small lake nearby.
Yoakum said: “It looks like it could have been some kind of water source that broke loose from its moorings and sank.”
the newspaper added that the drive was taken for “analysis” and eventually salvaged at a local recycling center, dismissing any further thought that the item was strange in any way.
Mr. Yoakum added: “the value: $17.68”.

Skeptics and NASA say the so-called spacecraft and other similar finds could be explained away by the term ‘pareidolia’.
This is a psychological phenomenon when the brain tricks people into seeing familiar objects or shapes where none exist.
NASA said: “Pareidolia is the psychological phenomenon in which people see recognizable shapes in clouds, rock formations, or other unrelated objects or data.
“There are many examples of this phenomenon on Earth and in space.”
